Vocational Colleges of Mechatronics, Informatics and Electroenergetics

The Vocational Colleges of Mechatronics, Informatics and Electroenergetics represent one of the three units of the Kranj School Centre for Technical Sciences, which for nearly sixty years has offered technical education. Since its establishment several generations of pupils have gained their education in the fields of engineering, electrotechnics and computer sciences. We continue this rich tradition with the introduction of three new programmes, offered by the Vocational Colleges of Mechatronics, Informatics and Electroenergetics.

Deciding to continue their studies in the field of Mechatronics, Informatics or Electroenergetics is an important decision in any student's life. Our study programme offers professional promotion, specialisation and the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills. We give our students as much assistance as possible, and we realise that their success is also an indication of our success.

Every year we invite applications for:

Mechatronics, Informatics and Electroenergetics

As a science, mechatronics combines skills and knowledge from electronics, engineering and information technology. It includes the planning, building and maintenance of mechatronic substructures and systems, as well as artificial intelligence, robotics and sensorics.

Mechatronic engineering is a modern occupation, showing new ways of solving problems. It gives us a versatile way of thinking, designing and building devices and goods which include mechanical, electronic and information technology components.

Informatics is an interdisciplinary science that is concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information and recorded knowledge.

It has been recognised that education and training of specialists in the field of electroenergetics are essential to the development of today's society and economy. Therefore the electroenergetics curriculum is focused on electricity production, transmission and distribution networks, renewable sources of energy, etc.

The vocational colleges for mechatronics, informatics and electroenergetics provide further study of these fascinating fields of science and technology, building on and strengthening the theoretical knowledge and practical skills mastered in senior school and are directed towards practical application of skills as well as more in-depth study of theoretical issues.

These are two-year study courses and include on-the-job training at various manufacturing plants where students apply their knowledge in practice. This assures their fast and complete integration in their future jobs. A graduate is well qualified to respond quickly to changing market conditions, set up their own business and holds internationally comparable qualification.
